Snyder graduated from Harvard Law School in 2002. After clerking for a federal judge, Snyder joined Proskauer Rose, a major corporate law firm, where he practiced for seven years in its litigation department.
Snyder opened John H. Snyder PLLC in midtown Manhattan in 2010. Snyder has gained a wealth of practical experience handling a wide variety of complex and difficult matters for clients around the world.
Snyder is a world-class trial advocate renowned for his devastating cross-examinations. He is regularly hired by litigation counsel as a “ringer” to lead the trial team. A master storyteller, Snyder’s first love is trial work, which he calls theater with consequences.
Snyder has significant experience in NYC construction and development matters. Snyder helps NYC construction firms, developers, condo boards, and management companies to handle complex business disputes that require specialized knowledge and understanding of construction trade practices and DOB regulations.
Snyder has been deeply involved in the AI industry since 2014 and serves as Chairman of Agnes Intelligence, which he co-founded in 2018. Snyder advises executives and entrepreneurs on matters relating to AI strategy and policy. In this domain, Snyder brings the unique perspective of having personally led a team of data scientists in successfully building a novel AI technology.
Snyder is licensed to practice in New York and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the SDNY and EDNY. Snyder has been recognized by New York Super Lawyers since 2011.
